i think we're hardly in control of our lives. to have control will mean taking a conscious effort in every moment of our life in wat we do and wat we think. if u're a Christian, i would ask you to pray more. becuz its in prayer where u can sought help from God and God can change u. instead of trying to gain control, we let it go and let God take charge. this higher-level-being supersedes even the greatest control we can ever obtain, but yet can understand us mankind because Jesus was made into human form and He intervenes for us.
Hebrews 4: 14-15 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.

but well, for now i can only say, i dun think we can ever be in full control because the things that happen around us are improbable. we cant foresee things. we dunno how other people will react. sometimes we are surprised by our own reaction. its something we have to accept and make a constant effort to be aware of.

oh and the issue on whether one will be condemned to hell because he/she has rejected God in some way or another. ultimately, its up to God. even if some murderer enters heaven, (im just being extreme here) nobody can ask, "God, why is he here?" its totally up to God. His sovereignty. Who are we to question God?
so i dunno whether u'll be condemned. but one thing for sure, if one rejects the truth in full knowledge of what it is, he will be condemned. whether the ignorant will be saved, its up to God. when i say ignorant, i refer to these 2 types of pple: (a) those who choose not to know and refuse to know whether this God exists. (b) those who do not even know about the issue of a God. whether its (a) or (b), we cant tell. we humans are too complex. how do we even tear apart the heart and decipher intentions? i guess only God will know.

one last thing...about the fren u miss. the test u "set up" sounds like the one i gave to u-know-who. my advice is, talk to her. i know ur fren cares about u. she just dunno wat to do. u cant say for sure dat the person she's loving is not you. its hard to tell. (read the bold words above). and the both of you are lost.
its like the two of u are thrown onto two ends of a road. wat u2 need to do is walk towards the centre. start walking, en. its better than getting stuck. maybe the road's shorter than we expect.
