DnD was quite a night for us Boranians. on top of gong lei becoming Mr. Bizad, we found out that our lao da got himself a gf. hahhaa. and then there's peizhi's birthday celebration: a birthday song from the wala-wala band, with er-hmm singing the bday song and a very nice chocolate cake from four leaves. (thanks to huiling and i's wonderful recommendation)

here are some of the photos...

here is Boran...

pan, huiling and i...

with the unsurmountable hills and mountains...

dun try and play play with Boran girls. we're tough.

And i also have pictures from sunday's farewell lunch with huijie...

we're so in love with thomas the toot-toot train.

we're the 3 aep cheongsters who never fail to keep each other company during those crazy project days...

we never fail to entertain ourselves.

to huijie: i'm really gonna miss having you around to study and go mad, eat lousy cup noodles, go toilet n use eucerin when the sun sets, take stupid videos and lastly, have fun together. you were part of wat made my secondary and jc life insane and memorable, and dats why we'll always have a special bond between us. those wonderful memories with always be with us. so take care in london, do well there. i will always be proud to have you as my friend becuz u're so different and u've made an impact to my life. be brave, daring and chase after your dreams, but remember to always stay true to who you are - the wacky, fun and caring huijie. i will always be here if u need to complain abt how the charcoal, pastel and paint are dirtying ur clothes.
love ya, maooooo.

yesterday i watched a rather meaningful and touching movie, "Click" with the Boranians. i guess it was touching because it was applicable to our lives. the most important thing i learnt, cherish your loved ones cuz time passes by very quickly. dun miss out on the most important things in life - the love from your family n friends.

anyway, i got this email from wei. thought i should share it with all of u.

The Difference Between Rich/Poor People?

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to a country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights in the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"

"It was great, Dad."

"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.

"Oh yeah," said the son.

"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.

The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four? We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."

The boy's father was speechless.

Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."

Isn't perspective a wonderful thing??
Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.

Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!
Pass this on to friends and acquaintances and help them refresh their perspective and appreciation.

"Life is too short and friends are too few."

crapping...

tutorial balloting drives us all crazy. the anticipation of seeing what slot u managed to get is equivalent to a dad meeting his newborn baby for the first time. [anxiety.]

okie, maybe im exaggerating too much. but u get the idea.

i realize i have nothing to blog about since school started. well, im getting senile. i cant remember my schedules. but amazingly, i can always remember the tutorials and readings dat im supposed to do.

okie maybe i should talk about DnD which is coming up this sat at raffles town club. the theme is black n white. initially i wanted to wear my new purple-pinkish dress but now i cant. so i borrowed 3 black dresses from my cousin and becuz they're all very nice, i dunno which one to wear!!! i hate making choices. but i also hate it when i have no choice. [the irony of man.]

BizAd won!!!

my last posting was on 30th july. pet has complained dat my blog is dead. even my frens ie. elise, pan, en..dun visit anymore. we're all busy human beings!!!

well, yesterday (Rag Day) was a glorifying day for BizAd! we won 4 awards: highest collection per capita, highest total amount collected, best float design n of cuz, OVERALL CHAMPION!!! finally we got our awards back! as my motto goes, its either we win or we lose. and i'm damn glad dat we won. all the hard work was worth it. and of cuz its worth my voice which has been almost inaudible for the past week for some weird reason. the BizAd spirit was really phenomenal even though we didnt have a lot of pple. when they announced the 1st award for best float design, i was so astonished. my seniors elaine and rosie and i were so stunned we kept checking if we really won dat award. and when they were going to announce the flag awards, we were all crossing our fingers cuz its so impt to win those awards. if we didnt win the flag component (60%), its impossible for us to win overall champs. but we did!! and BizAd wins for the 17th year!

i shall talk more abt flag day. it was insane. we were woken up at 4.30am, sent to orchard in a BMW at 6+, sat at bus stop to eat breakfast from 7-11 at 6.45am. it was so early dat we could cross the 5 or 6-lane orchard main road without any worries. we could even roll across n not fear getting hit by cars or buses. so flagging started at 7am. n i really asked for donations until i lost my voice. we went from orchard to city hall and finished at marina square at 9pm. dats a total of 14 hours. but somehow, i was still energetic. n ryan made us act in his video abt flag day. i've now been labelled as an agressive flagger. nobody goes past me without dropping a coin into my tin. (dats exagerating. but u get the idea.)

after rag awards presentation, we the boran-ians went back to the rag site n helped to tear down our structure. all our sweat n blood, torn down in a couple of mins. the rag site is really very dirty. clean like mad still dirty. really need to get some banglas in to restore dat place. after cleaning, the boran-ians went out for our pre-sem outing. sorry to those who weren't around to get invited. there were 14 of us: tom, shirley, jianqiang, weiherng, me, huiling, qinyao, JJ, gonglei, keith, jonathan, nick, chris. we had dinner at NYDC and then went to the area in front of parliament house to see fireworks. while waiting, we played our official OG game- 24. (its always good to have cards with u) the fireworks display by team holland was spectacular. their design was refreshing, very different from wat we have from spore designers. they had a wide range of different fireworks dat would burst in different forms. there's one dat goes up in to the sky in a small circle and then suddenly explode to form a circle of sparkling glitter dats twice the size of its original circle. their finale was overwhelming and beautiful, so much fireworks bursting in the sky at one go, i could only marvel. after dat was finally home sweet home, and i slept like a pig till 11am this morning.

two weeks at rag. only been homefour times. even sundays at rag. i think im gonna miss the rag rush. the eating of lunch/ dinner on the steps. the rag site looking like a war zone. only sleeping after 4am just to play 24 and listen to others' secrets in a circle of trust. stitching the never-ending costumes. sleeping in the audi. having starch on my hand (and sometimes, hair). the rag experience was memorable n fulfilling. lets go rag next year!
