the life of an associate wannabe...

mon: went back to office early, at like 8.40am. wanted to finish dat EM case. worked all the way till 1pm n finally passed it over to my mentor PY before lunch. came back, started on ANOTHER document for EM, and then read JS custody files. then i started having this huge splitting headache probably becuz i spent the entire morning staring at the comp screen while drafting EM case documents. after work, i was supposed to go teach rose piano, but due to dat huge headache, i decided to cancel it. went to meet en n candy at orchard for dinner for candy's post-birthday celebration. so i didnt get home early either. but the relaxation definitely cured my headache.

tues: went to a PTC at sub court with JS. came back and finished EM's document. i *toot* i've developed a fear for certain words like h*lutr*ns and EM. then JS asked me to help him draft a cross-petition for the divorce case. i was totally enjoying that. i read through the pleadings and correspondent files and started working on it. and coincidentally, the other party works at h*lutr*ns. oh my freaking *toot*, dat word keeps appearing n JS n PY files were two separate cases. but the name of dat h*lutr*ns company appeared in both files!! i was so freaked out. n i told PY n she was like, OMG! OMG! dat is so freaky!! i've really been haunted. after work, went to church to do noticeboard till quite late. i was so insanely tired.

wed: went to sub court with PY n sarah! its a happy happy day cuz PY won the case for our client, the defendent. 100% liabilities were accrued to the plaintiff. yay!! so PY took us to the bar room for a drink n a chit-chat. went back to the office n i continued to work on JS cross-petition. for once, i got to go home after work. but i left at 6pm cuz i was hooked onto drafting dat cross-petition. after i got home, bathed n had dinner, i had a good piano practice and then started on andy's interview transcript for his thesis paper. it was urgent. but i fell asleep n decided to quit doing cuz i really couldnt tahan anymore after 11pm.

thurs: in the morning, i attended the moe southeast asia ministerial exhibition. i talked to so many incredibly important pple tharman, gan kim yong (minister of state for education) and a couple of education ministers from all over the world. WOAH. n the most common questions i got from them are: are u going to really produce your jewellery design? what are u planning to study in the future? and then i would go like: i need funding, sponsorships to really manufacture my jewellery. i'm not planning to do into art or design. i prefer doing it as my hobby and my sideline...blah blah. n i had to provide some p*litically correct answers becuz dat was a really p*litical event. after dat ms kee treated all the hc pple to ice cream and i went for lunch with the twins and claire (this vjc girl i met who's eurasian n really nice). after dat i met sarah n we attended to this criminal case dat DVD singh is working on. i tell u, he's reaaaaaaally good. the way he picks up detail and finds way out for our client is just amazing. he can really think on the spot and he was really swift and smooth in court. by the time we got back to the office, we barely had time to grab dinner. i got a coffee, got back, sent a couple of emails and then went to an NUS case negotiation session that drew holds with NUS students. it was sooooo interesting and exciting. i hope i get to go dat. really.
