another great day at drew
today i learnt some important things about being a lawyer...
1. always consult your client before you do anything. even the tiniest things. its always their decision. we can only offer professional opinion.
2. no matter how impossible it seems, dun give up. fight for the best for your client, all the way. we dun lose by fighting for something out of our reach.
3. be confident of your own abilities.
4. always read everything with precision and know the direction. know every single little thing on every page.
the above are my thoughts after coming back from the discussion with JS about the custody case. i have more research to do on monday. feel like doing them now. but i can only access lawnet in the office. oh well. i think JS gonna work over the weekend to file dat reply affidavit by monday. i feel like going in to help. but im not supposed to, and i better not go and disturb him.
at the psychometric test today, i met siewhui. kinda shocked. haha. not a place to meet familiar places anyway. after the test, we went for lunch. she brought me to eat novena fish noodles. its was damn good. n she treat me to a drink cuz its my bday tmr. haha kinda funny.
i got back to the office at 12.30pm. supposed to go have lunch from 1pm-2pm but i decided to stay in the office to go through the custody case. read the textbook, precedents and then come up with a summary of the relevant cases that will help our case. finished everything at 4.30pm, went up to have discussion with JS.
another great day at drew. i think mainly becuz i get to do real work, real research, handle a case "professionally". i got to thank JS for not treating me like a useless kid, but giving me work and respecting my opinion. most importantly, for trusting my ability to help. cuz some lawyers would think we will just create more work for them than help. so i really thank JS for letting me help on the case and always asking me for my opinion.
at 5.30pm we were done with the discussion. i went up, tried to do a bit more research before my dad called n asked me to hurry up.
more work to do on monday!! yay!!
got to go for piano lesson. cya~
