this is the funniest food review i've ever read.

Cappadocia Cafe restaurant

Good food. Bad buskers.

If you can't hold a tune, please don't ruin the night by busking.

It was a perfect night to be dining outdoors. The evening was fresh after the afternoon rains. We decided to try something different after having too many ramens in Robertson. After being seated here, we were puzzled why there were so few people enjoying the happy hour beer specials ($12 for 2 Tigers/Heineken, $20 for 2 Erdinger/Kilkenny) here.

To our disgust, we soon discovered the reason for the lack of a crowd here. These three "musicians" were doing their best to remove our appetites with their "timeless melodies". We were rudely shocked to our senses as the vocalist was clearly trained in the William Hung school of music. Even the cats were soon joining in with their pitiful pleas to stop.

We were glad that these Singapore Idol rejects went for their break just before dinner was served. Having not visited Turkey, we are not going to comment if the food here is "authentic". None of the tone-deaf Turks supporting this restaurant last night seem to mind. While my partner loved his staple chicken iskander, I was pleasantly surprised by my Izgara Kotfe, which was grilled minced beef patties in a pepper sauce served with a crisp side salad. The patties had a lovely smoked flavour which were perfect with a dollop of mashed potatoes that I had specially requested.

Unfortunately we had to quickly make our move when the trio took up positions to sing next to our table. We will return again with ear plugs to try the ice cream.
